The Benefits of Participating in Media Interviews
By speaking with the media, whether it’s sharing their latest research or providing commentary on the top news story of the day, faculty can:
- build awareness around the great research that they’re doing;
- inform the public of important issues in our society;
- encourage the public to take action;
- influence policy;
- and support the University’s mission.
In University Relations, we offer media training for faculty interested in learning or sharpening their skills (and even provide them a useful tip sheet for when the media calls). We can help your faculty prepare for interviews with the media by, for example, developing key talking points or finding bridging phrases.
If you’re interested in scheduling a media training for interested faculty, please contact Katie Ousley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
