Folwell Theme is Available; Website Launches
The Folwell web theme is now available for use in University Drupal 8 websites. The theme is included in Enterprise Drupal 8, and the multi-platform components are available in the updated Pattern Library for development outside of Drupal.
What is it and who is it for?
Folwell is an evolving design system made up of modular components. Use of the Folwell web theme gives your site a foundation that helps create familiarity and consistency across University sites, while allowing you to add your own custom design elements to reflect your unit's identity.
The Folwell web theme is available to anyone at the University, which means every unit on every campus can use Folwell. It will be available in Drupal Lite 8 later this spring.
Building a site using the Folwell web theme will help to:
- save time and money
- improve accessibility and usability
- enhance the perception of the U and boost visitor confidence
The Folwell Design System website is a resource library. It showcases the Folwell components by providing examples, usage instructions, and accessibility and best practice information. In addition, you can find:
Model of continuous improvement
Folwell will evolve over time. The roadmap shows what is planned, what's in progress, and what has been completed. Your feedback will help direct future improvements.
Create an account in our feedback tool to:
- Submit a Folwell feature request—Suggest new components that you'd like to see developed.
- Provide feedback—Comment on any of the components listed to let us know what is working or what needs to be improved.
- Vote on components—Your votes will help us know where to prioritize our work.
Join the Folwell Web Theme User Group. We will use this group to announce new components, changes in current components, updates to the Pattern Library code, and more.
