The where-to-#GopherSummer guide
Students may be surprised to learn it, but staff and faculty know the Twin Cities campus comes alive during the summer months. We have worked with departments across the East Bank, West Bank, and St. Paul to get a look at activities so we can share them more widely.
Follow @UMNews and #GopherSummer to learn what’s happening. If your team is hosting an event, please use the tag so everyone can join in the fun.
Here are some highlights of what you can find on the Twin Cities campus this summer:
- Get your lunch—and weekly veggies while you’re at it—at the Farmer’s Market, then head over to Northrop Plaza for music each Wednesday.
- Enjoy ice cream from St. Paul’s Meat & Dairy Lab and see the newest exhibits just down the street at the Bell Museum.
- Try your hand at sorting recyclables—it’s trickier than you’d think—to win prizes across the Twin Cities campus.
- Try out RecWell on the third Thursday of each month, when it’s Free Faculty/Staff Day. This could be your excuse to try out the climbing wall.
Be sure to watch for other “pop-up fun” games and activities—courtesy of University Services—to help make the campus more welcoming and engaging.
Get in on the fun by using the #GopherSummer asset package on your social media channels and in your internal communications efforts.
