Communicator Training Takes Off
The long-anticipated training program for University communicators has begun.
This in-depth training offers topics communicators said were of interest to them. Start with the three introductory videos (X.500) that showcase approaches to marketing, media relations, social media, internal communications, and government and community relations.
The videos have already been assigned to those in the communications job family through Training Hub. In the future, they will be the starting point for new communications employees to acquire a solid grounding and resources as they come on board.
The training also includes six deep-dive workshops on brand, strategy, social media, PR, storytelling, and crisis management. Communicators from across the system who have watched the introductory videos may take these courses either in person or online and receive a certificate to celebrate their commitment.
The first two workshops, Brand Ambassador (X.500) and Strategic Communicator (X.500), are prerequisites for the other deep dives. Depending on demand, more of these foundational workshops will be offered in the coming months. If a course is full, please join the waitlist so administrators can gauge interest. Online access will also be provided for those joining the course from Crookston, Duluth, Morris, or Rochester.
