Accessibility Ambassadors: Fundamentals of Disability Accommodations and Inclusive Course Design


Tina Marisam and Donna Johnson of the Office for Equity and Diversity will share information about the new training, “Fundamentals of Disability Accommodations and Inclusive Course Design.” They’ll provide an overview of the course background, development, and enrollment, and also demonstrate one of the modules to highlight the accessibility features. This training is required for all teaching roles at the University, and will be available for everyone else via self-registration.

Tina Marisam is an associate vice president in the Office for Equity and Diversity and director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action. She also serves as the University of Minnesota's Title IX coordinator.

Donna Johnson is a project manager for the Office for Equity and Diversity, and formerly served as director of the Disability Resource Center and ADA coordinator for the University of Minnesota.

They bring different skills, strengths, and backgrounds, but all want to create an inclusive and accessible community at the U of M.
