Global Accessibility Awareness Day
You are invited to register for Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on May 18, 2023. In coordination with people and institutions around the globe, join us for a half-day-long online event based on the theme of Amplifying Accessibility.
GAAD 2023 will include:
- Welcome from Enjie Hall, Director of the UMN Disability Resource Center
- Keynote presentation from Lydia X.Z. Brown on Disability Justice Action in Higher Education
- Three sessions in three concurrent tracks: Pedagogy and education, Research and community outreach, and Digital accessibility
- Coffee chat and debrief with Ilene Alexander, Education Program Specialist from Center for Educational Innovation

Registration is required. Use your UMN email account, or any other Google account, when you register to ensure the sessions you select get added to your Google calendar.

Live captioning will be provided for all sessions. ASL interpretation will be provided during the keynote session. Slides and handouts will be available a few days prior on the GAAD event website.
