May 16 - Global Accessibility Awareness Day


You are invited to register for Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on May 16, 2024. In coordination with people and institutions around the globe, join us for an online event based on the theme of Built Without Barriers.

GAAD 2024 will include

  • Keynote presentation from Ashley Shew, Associate Professor at Virginia Tech and author of the book Against Technoableism

  • Several breakout sessions in 4 broad tracks: Digital content, Organizational success, Community and partners, & Teaching and learning

Registration is required. Use your UMN email account, or any other Google account, when you register to ensure the sessions you select get added to your Google calendar. If you don’t have a Google account, you can create one with an existing email account. All times on the registration form are in Central Daylight Time.

Live captioning will be provided for all sessions. ASL interpretation will be provided during the keynote session. Slides and handouts will be available a few days prior on the GAAD event website.
