Accessibility Ambassadors: Design with Care: A Trauma-Informed Approach for Harm Reduction

In this presentation, Melissa Eggleston will introduce the concept of trauma and discuss the importance of a trauma-informed approach in the design of technology. She'll explore practical examples in design research, website design, and content creation, with time for Q&A and resources for further learning. The presentation is ideal for designers and anyone else responsible for making/managing websites.

Melissa Eggleston started Birdcall in 2020 to focus on helping organizations that are changing the world for the better—socially, economically, and/or environmentally. She specializes in trauma-informed user experience (UX) research, trauma-informed UX design, inclusive design, and teaching others on user experience topics.
