Sharing the Good News of What the U of M Does

In a recent post, we mentioned this notable finding from a Pew Research Center survey on COVID-19 news: 87% of respondents say they need to take breaks from COVID-19 news.

In this related piece on tackling COVID-19 news fatigue, the writer, an Atlanta-based media relations consultant, suggests “ ... there’s a media appetite for positive stories right now, anything to counterbalance the steady stream of bad news.” He also reminds communications professionals that we have a role to play in sharing the stories of those “trying to make a difference during this difficult time.”

Along with all of the U of M’s work to change the course of COVID-19 and keep communities safe, our faculty, staff and students continue to make an impact in the state in countless other ways.

University Relations invites you to continue to share with us stories and updates from your units. Some of our communications tools to consider are the Story Sharing Form, Research Briefs, and Talking with...U of M.

We look forward to partnering with you to convey the value the U of M delivers to our state and world. As always, please feel free to reach out to us at unews@umn.edu if you have any questions.
