Snappy and Succinct Subject Lines Help Media Pitches Break Through
With journalists receiving hundreds of media pitches each week, it is important to keep in mind the importance of email subject lines to grab their attention. Anything too confusing may end up being passed over, despite the content being relevant to their beat areas.
Agility PR analyzed over 5,000 emails sent through the Agility platform to see what worked and to determine whether patterns emerged among those successful distributions.
Separating the most successful emails into two categories - top open rates and top clickthrough rates - the data showed, among other key findings, subject lines were “snappy and to the point” and an average of 79 characters long.
